The Memphis Area Home Builders Association and member builders break ground Wednesday to build five houses for the 2012 Fall VESTA Home Show. Slanted shelves, LED lighting, velvet lined drawers, pull out garment racks… a dream for a clotheshorse that needs help keeping it all organized and pretty. There are 4 different levels that you can work within when designing your customer layout, and while it’s not cheap, they’re able to design something beautiful within your budget. The master bath contains his and her vanities, his and her closets, a free-standing soaker tub, and separate shower area. Upstairs is a separate bunk room and bath adjoining a spacious media area. Finally the front and back covered porches with their bluestone flooring give a warm and inviting feel for entertaining friends and family.
Builders to break ground for VESTA home show in Memphis
Hudson House provides a comfortable and cozy place to retreat, relax, and recharge while providing an amazing space to entertain. Indoor and outdoor living is made easy by the floor plan and kitchen layout. We begin by showcasing Hudson House, our entry in this year’s show. Included is the background behind the architect’s and designers’ vision for the home. You will find links to a video tour, photo gallery, plans, and specifications.
The kitchen and scullery are equipped with high-end appliances, plenty of space and lots of natural light for seamless entertaining. The outdoor entertaining space features a covered porch with a fireplace, an outdoor kitchen and a pool. The ground floor master suite is located in the back of the house to provide a luxurious private retreat.

The master bath provides large his-and-hers vanities separated by an Old World cast-iron tub sitting on a beautifully understated marble floor, which leads into the large master suite dressing room. Features include a large island full of storage, washer and dryer dedicated to the master bedroom, and a three-way mirror for dressing. You mentioned some of the furniture and accessories in the Vesta homes are available for purchase? Each of the houses are staffed with people who will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the home. Get the Specifications Each home should have a list of the specifications they used–whether it be paint colors, countertops, tile, or whatever. At Hudson House you can scan a QR code and immediately upload all our specifications to your phone.

Or how the builders can put so many upgrades into their Vesta homes? You can find the answers to those questions and more in the FAQ’s. I feel like it had a country yet transitional style with a touch of modern with its accent elements and ammenities, especially with the California Closets. We were able to tour the home on our own, then Designer Sharon Fleming gave us a breakdown of the gorgeous master closet. Special attention has been paid to the laundry room for the family pets. It features a Dutch door, a dog wash station with a handheld sprayer, and a dedicated sleeping space under the stairs.
The Ericson is a completely custom and stately painted brick home designed for family living. The home has an unforgettable first impression with a courtyard complete with a water feature upon approach to the front entry. This home features eleven-foot curved, contemporary ceilings complimenting brick and shiplap walls.

My schedule is usually packed when it happens, so I was excited that I could accept California Closets Memphis’ invitation. Each home works with a builder, interior designer and other vendors, and they were responsible for designing the closet of the master bedroom of their home. We visited the Galloway House ; RKA Construction was the Builder, David Anderson was the Architect, and Ashley Binkley was over interiors for the 5 bedroom 4 bath home . The twelve-foot ceiling continues into the great room with subtle ceiling details. The Memphis Area is fortunate to have a home show in the Vesta format, where all homes are conveniently together in one venue. Do you know why that is so unique compared to many areas of the country?
The kitchen features soapstone counter tops, custom brass and glass shelving that reaches up to the twelve-foot ceilings, a large island, plenty of storage, and a custom hood over the stove. Thermador appliances are wrapped in cabinets custom-colored specifically for this home. Five builders will participate, each one building a custom-designed home on a 1-acre lot. The show homes will be a minimum of 4,500 square feet and priced from $675,000 to $750,000.

The Vesta Home Show will be happening until December 10th, so take a tour if you have a chance. Tickets are $13 for Gen Admission ($10 for 65+, $5 for 7-14) and it’s open Tuesday – Sunday til 7m . A portion of the ticket sales support the Germantown Education Foundation Convenient so it’s a cool way to get inspiration for your own home design while also giving back. The Memphis market has a large number of smaller custom home builders compared to other cities, which may have more large, national home building companies. It is set in one subdivision and includes six different custom builders. We include different architects and designers on our homes. The fact that you can visit six unique, brand-new, million-dollar homes in one location in a matter of hours sets us apart. Texture is a consistent theme in the Hudson House from the beam treatment in the two-story staircase to the classic grass cloth wall treatment. The master suite, with its own sitting area, has a lovely view of the pool.
Hudson House, our entry in this year’s show, has Old World elements while providing a more modern take on the way families live today. Following Hudson House is a brief look at general information about the show — such as dates, times, a map, and what else there is to see and do once you tour the homes. I’m Johnny Williams, builder of Hudson House, one of the entries in this year’s show. The show will feature the new St. James Place, a gated 12-lot subdivision on Forest Hill Irene in Germantown.
All of the builders in this year’s show have lots available in the subdivision. The homes will have people available to answer any questions you might have. The VESTA Home Show, which is presented by The West Tennessee Home Builders Association, features six state-of-the-art homes in Chapel Cove, Germantown’s newest community. California Closets of Memphis partnered with home builder Ryan Anderson with RKA Construction for the closet install featured in his custom home design. The Vesta builders include many extras in their homes because of the participation of our suppliers and subcontractors, who often go to the manufacturers and ask for discounts and advertising funds. We then pass that on to our customers, including many new ideas and products not yet seen in our market.

Also, on the ground floor, is and inviting guest room with a private full bath. The second-floor hosts three bedrooms with two full baths and a half bath and an airy open bonus room. This entry by Inglewood Homes, named The Piper, was a classic take on the modern Farmhouse.
